Oconee Services Coordinator:
This is professional and administrative and supervising work in planning, directing and providing a wide variety of individual and group community-based counseling and intervention services to all populations. Performs advanced counseling in complex areas of substance use. Work involves the provision of individual and group counseling to individuals with behavioral, legal, alcohol and drug related problems. The employee in this class supervises the work of a staff of clinical counselors. Work is performed under the limited direction of the Director of Operations/Treatment and is reviewed through periodic conferences and the observation of results obtained. Performs duties governed generally by broad instructions, objectives, and policies involving frequently changing conditions and problems. The Oconee Services Coordinator is in charge of the Oconee site of AOBHS in the absence of the Executive Director and Director of Treatment/Operations.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Thorough knowledge of management methods, principles and practices of counseling and education services
Considerable knowledge of client typology and client management within the agency setting
Working knowledge of basic health and welfare services provided by other public and private agencies
Ability to establish and maintain effective contact with individuals, families and representatives of other professional disciplines
Ability to execute and coordinate in-service training and informational activities relative to substance abuse programs and other behavioral health areas
Considerable knowledge of the field of alcohol and drug abuse and other behavioral health areas impacting clients
Minimum Training and Experience:
A Master's degree in counseling or related area and four (4) years counseling experience, S.C. State licensure to provide counseling services preferred; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
